Hello everyone, today I will be talking about vaping and how addictive it can be to everyone. Most students in college today struggle with it. In fact, according to the National Institute of Health, 25 to 33% struggle with vaping. So here are some tips to help you quit.
[00:00:21.020]
Imagine what success looks like. Imagine what it’ll feel like when you actually quit. And you can feel yourself getting away from chasing that dopamine rush. Talk to a friend. Friends are a very valuable asset to us.
[00:00:36.340]
We need to utilize them. Having them push us to get better will help. Make a withdrawal plan. Have an idea of how you’re going to accomplish this. It’s like making a plan for anything else.
[00:00:50.220]
You just have to go through with it. Change your routine. Usually vaping helps you with stress. Try to avoid high-stress situations in your routine. Make things easier.
[00:01:05.290]
Just cut things out of your routine if you have to.
[00:01:09.300]
Make yourself accountable. Have someone help you with this. Have someone join you in quitting. This is something very important to you. You need to have someone on your side.
[00:01:20.460]
Make it worth your while.
[00:01:23.600]
Making it worth your while means reward yourself after you do something. You know, sometimes you can trick your mind into being reward-based.
[00:01:35.870]
Lock it up, throw it away. Do not put it in a place where you can find it. Have a friend hide it for you. Have someone else, or just throw it in the trash. There’s nothing wrong with it accepting that you just need to get it out of sight, out of mind.
[00:01:53.440]
Sometimes you relapse, be ready for round 2. It’s, it’s very rare to stop the first time you try and quit.
[00:02:02.330]
Just always keep going with that plan.
[00:02:10.620]
Make it visual. Make— maybe make sure that you can’t see it. Some people are visual learners. The way you can teach your mind not to do it is by just looking at it and knowing that you can’t hit it. That’s something— that’s a great idea sometimes.
[00:02:25.270]
Use it one time a day. Maybe you just had a long day and you got through it. Reward yourself by using it one time. That’s the only time of the day that you can hit it. It’s slowly getting you off of it.
[00:02:38.510]
You’re weaning yourself off of it. These tips were brought to us by FrederickHealth.org.
